EMERGING INITIATIVES
Foundations of Excellence® – Transfer Focus
The Gardner Institute is currently piloting an adaptation of Foundations of Excellence in the First College Year (FoE) to focus on the experience of transfer students. This process was developed with the Institute in collaboration with transfer researchers and practitioners across the country. Currently, 10 institutions are undertaking the transfer-focused FoE self-study as a pilot project.
National Survey of Practices that Support Student Success
As a follow-up to its national survey initiatives in 2000 and 2002, the Institute will launch a third national survey in early 2010 to investigate the various ways in which institutions support the success of first-year and transfer students.
Plans for the Future
The Institute is actively involved in discussions with potential partners and funders regarding a range of other new undergraduate education initiatives. There will be forthcoming announcements on this page as these come to fruition. The Institute welcomes inquiries from individuals or organizations interested in collaborative endeavors to study and promote excellence in undergraduate education. We cordially invite you to contact us at gardner@jngi.org or by phone at 800-385-8399 ext. 103.
