Beverly Dolinsky has a doctorate in psychology and has worked at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts for 16 years. For ten years, she held the position as Dean of Arts and Sciences and recently returned to her position as Professor of Psychology. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from U.C.L.A. She holds a Master of Arts in Experimental Psychology from the California State University - Sacramento. Her doctoral work was completed in the field of social psychology at the State University of New York at Albany. Dr. Dolinsky has taught at several colleges including the State University of New York, Skidmore College, Salem State College and Northeastern University. Courses taught include social psychology, statistics, research methods, the psychology senior thesis course, and general psychology.
While at Endicott College she has played a leading role in many initiatives that have led the College from being a two-year women's college to a four-year co-educational facility. These initiatives include the creation of six new Baccalaureate degrees within the School of Arts and Sciences, a revision of the core curriculum and the design and implementation of the Freshman Seminar. The College was recognized as a Founding Institution for the Foundations of Excellence in the First College Year in 2004.
Her scholarship is focused within the areas of higher education curriculum, policy and pedagogy. Dr. Dolinsky was appointed a visiting scholar to the New England Resource Center for Higher Education in which she studied innovative general education models. She has presented at numerous national conferences documenting the change processes that have taken place at Endicott College, discussing the strengths and weaknesses of innovative curriculum and advocating for innovative teaching strategies at the College level that allow for active and collaborative learning. She has been a member of the New England Research Center for Higher Education's Assistant Dean and Dean Think Tanks and is an executive board member of the of the American Council of Education's National Network for Women Leaders – Massachusetts Chapter.
