Steady Moono

Dr. Moono brings nine years of experience in higher education. He has an earned doctorate from Immaculata University, a Master's degree in English from Arcadia University, and a Master's degree in Counseling and Theology from the Biblical Theological Seminary. Prior to his current role, he served at another Pennsylvania community college as the Director of Multicultural Student Services before taking on the role of Assistant Dean of Student Development. During his tenure, he was able to create a model student retention mentoring program designed to assist students of color and first generation college students. During this time, the success rate of these students doubled in a span of three years. He also led the efforts that resulted in the creation of a Women's Center.

At Montgomery County Community College, his accomplishments include orchestrating the successful merger of the college's advising and counseling units into one central operation. Most recently he spearheaded the Foundations of Excellence Project, which has now created a strong platform for long term systems change associated with advising. He was selected in 2004 to participate in the Future Leaders Institute sponsored by AACC. He is a sought after speaker on a variety of topics including student engagement and success; retention; multicultural and systems thinking and change.
