Ann Fellinger



Ann Fellinger

Ann Fellinger has taught full time at two-year colleges since 1989.  She began her teaching career at Westark Community College (now University of Arkansas at Fort Smith) as a writing instructor and has been with Pulaski Technical College (PTC) since 1994.   She holds a B.A in English and journalism (1986) and an M.A. from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville (1990).

Fellinger has been instrumental in helping Pulaski Technical College make the transition from a vocational-technical school to the largest two-year college in the state of Arkansas.  Fellinger was one of the first full-time English instructors hired at Pulaski Technical College, which was converted to a two-year college in 1991.She has taught freshman English and American literature but she also helped establish the developmental writing program at PTC.   She currently teaches College Seminar, the school’s first-year experience course and serves as the chair of College Studies department, which houses this course.  Outside of the classroom, Fellinger has been a very active and involved member of the campus community.  She was one of the original assessment committee members and was instrumental in helping design the college’s assessment program.  She has been a member of various standing and ad hoc committees and has served as president of the Faculty Council.  She worked in some capacity on every NCA self-study, including serving as the editor.  Fellinger served as co-liaison of the Foundations of Excellence self-study process during the 2006-2007 academic year and is currently a co-director of the Achieving the Dream initiative.  She is also part of a team of educators from both the two-year and four-year sector in the state of Arkansas who is working to create a statewide student success collaborative network.
